sex and the city

went to watch <sex and the city> e other night.
updating it only now coz i sorta 'forgot it' for quite some time... but still... should say something...
it's something a bit diff from what i expected
it is still e four GIRLS, still e city.

but somehow, it just feel diff.
e 2 hr+ show sorta gave us a conclusion for everyone's life. carry finally married mr. big, after all those years and all those obstacles; charllot had a baby, but never stopped being her own princess; samamtha found her true love- or did she? Miranda, found sense of accompolishment not only in job, but oso family life...
yala, it's really a heart lightening movie that brings joy and laughter after so many years of emotion and empathy.
but still, i feel diff.
to tell e truth, e tv series have never been so heart lightening throughout.
it has always been like carry 'almost' get tgt with mr.big, but something happened. i dunno why and how i went thru all those seemingly repetitive plots, but ya, truly i did. and most of e times, i reali felt for the characters. maybe that's something i can see from american dramas-- or simply those with grown-up women as main focuses.
i can still recall many of the scenes frm e early seasons. it's true tt most of them are sad, but somehow i think tt i'd rather rmb them than the happy ending of e movie.
i understand that e director finished e whole thing up with a happy ending bcz he wanted it to appeal to a broader audience. with less ** scences, e movie now can successfully reach out to any 15yr old - in most places, though in spore it's still M18.
and to a certain extend, audience pay to enjoy happiness rather than tears and empathy.
but how do i put it...
to some that have followed e tv series for years - like me- we are just unfamiliar with e way he tells the story...
it's abit too humerous untill it sounds not sincere anymore...
on e other hand, i'm oso quite sad for the extremely low rating on IMDB.
as e suggestion goes, most that vote on IMDB are male, and it's very obvious that this movie is simply not their type. oh come on, i know it's not perfect, but it can never be as low as 4.9, okay?
honestly speaking, at least half of the actors/actresses performed well- or at e similar standard as compared to e tv series. so yup, just be fair please?
lastly, (oops, actually this post hasn't got much content up till now...) let me say that <sex and the city>, to a large extend, is an eye opener for me wrt to e US society.
'Mei Guo' is perhas e first foreign country i got to know when i was a kid, but have never got an oppo to reali KNOW it. so e tv series and movies are basically e introduction to me to at least KNOW SOMETHING abt e country. so yup, it allows me to c e life in NY, in LA, and... inspired me to pursue that life? e second part i can never tell...
sounds abit astray liao.
anw, it's a movie for those who luv it.
